HOSPITALS are regarded to be the centres for treating the ailments and make the lives of the suffering people a little better and easier . The friday incident at a well reputed hospital in the Capital has shooked the Kolkatans . Each trying to save the other from the scorching fire and smoke dilemma . What's wrong with the place which works as a saviour to most of the people ??
The next day I was flipping through the newspaper when I learnt a couple of requirements a Hospital should possess... Not just possessing makes it all... Those should be working...
AMRI had a strong medical coverage but the question is that WHY WEREN'T THEY WORKING ??
MY condolence to those who lost their lives is mere but I must say .. after this tormenting incident :: "HOSPITALS HAVE BECOME A BANE TO THE MANKIND" It seems like we all have to go back to the medieval periods for treating ourselves . Now, do we really have to leave behind science and rely on the ayurvedic treatments .. only to save our lives not from the disease but from the unorganised system of City's well known Hospitals and their FIRE !!
Few years back , My Father had an accident and broken his left ankle only to be admitted in a nearby hospital where a bad or rather an unprofessional treatment by the doctor , almost costed my father's left leg to be extracted . At this time, combined family decision of swapping hospital gave my Father a new life . I owe a big time to KOTHARI , the hospital opposite alipore zoo . Though I was then too young to catch the complexity of the situation , yet knew that the doctor was about to ruin my Father's life and that KOTHARI acted a saviour to me and my family .
NO complains !!
BUT the system and fire protection regime in every other Hospital might be the same . Often My Father used to imagine a fire in the hospital and he is unable to escape from the fire(because he had a broken leg) and lost his life . Today its AMRI , tomorrow it can be at any other place . Its high time to take a step and come into action rather than just inviting some intellectuals and hosting a discussion on every other news channel and doing absolutely nothing !!
The buzz after every fire or mishap in the State lasts for about a month and then volatilises . Its time to think serious . Let the culprits be jailed but the medical units must be at its zenith because its not just about treatments ... Its about saving the innocents ....
last thing that I would like to share is Yesterday's Victory of India and Of course the great performance of MANOJ TEWARI . According to him , He dedicated his victory to those people who lost their lives in the friday AMRI fire massacre . This is rather a moment of pride , being a non-bengali and residing in KOLKATA for long years and dedicating his victory to the lost lives has touched my heart ..
And I'm proud to be a part of Kolkata ...
But will be even prouder when innocents will stop losing their precious lives .. not just in Kolkata but all over the World .
LETS MAKE WORLD THE BEST PLACE TO RESIDE .
